Working on the butterfly paintings. We started with the background and then sketched templates on construction paper (just like you used to do to cut out hearts by folding a piece of paper in half and drawing half a heart and then cutting it out and having a perfectly symmetrical heart) we folded our construction paper and sketched out half a butterfly (or moth) and then cut it out. When we opened the paper we had a symmetrical outline for our paintings. We traced around our patterns and then painted in the details.
